It’s just a week since we left Cork after eating three of the best meals I’ve had anywhere. You’ve got everything just right. The cooking is imaginative, delicious and executed to perfection. The flavours balance and surprise. But front of house is also important and that’s where Bridget shines. She makes you feel like a friend who has popped in for dinner. Finally, at the risk of sycophancy, the staff are great too – they really care about and know about the food. They were so helpful in our attempts to identify English equivalents of those excellent Irish cheeses so we can use the cookbooks properly at home. I acquired two signed books so I can give my battered, annotated copies away and bring more fans into the fold.

Can’t wait to return and sample another seasonal menu.

My partner had told me how out of this world Cafe Paradiso is, but I thought he was exaggerating…. not so! Words simply can’t convey the magic of your food and atmosphere. Paradiso it truly is – this is how food should taste. Thank you!!

Hi Den and Bridget,
Just thought I’d let y’all know, the Hillbillies are on the move again!
We just bought a new farm on the Canadian Prairies. A honkin’ big one!
Still miss you both and your magic restaurant. Believe me there is nothing like it anywhere else!
Take care of each other, hope to see you one day
Love Ian & Kim…

Denis Cotter comments: – Lovely to hear from you. Er…how big? Are you two avoiding each other at opposite ends of the prairie?

To my delight the other day when I was in my local bookstore, I came upon Cafe Paradiso Seasons cookbook. When I was in Cork 3-4 years ago, I was stunned by the food I had at the restaurant and went back again in my 3 day visit. The cookbook I purchased then was written, of course, for your cooking settings, so this one I can actually try and recreate the beautiful food in it without burning it.
Thank you for such wonderful food and now, recipes. Also it’s the first time I have seen the use of pumpkin oil that I have on the shelf and never have used.

wow!!!! A revalation, one of the best meals I have ever had (twice). A week-end in Cork was transformed, 6 of us had a memorable meal on St.Patricks day. How often do you visit the same place twice on a short city break—-we did, and the 2nd time was even better!!! Thanks so much

We were visting Cork for the first time this weekend and decided to have a meal with you on friday night as it had been recommended in the guidebook. we were lucky to get a table and have got to admit that it was the best meal we have ever had. It will make coming back to Ireland and Cork sometime soon a definite need to do and we haven’t stopped recommending you to our friends since getting back home. We had a meal at Raymond blancs restaurant le manoir de quatre saisons last year and you more than compare. Thank you so much for your hospitality and wonderful food, heres hoping to visit Ireland again very soon.

My visit to Cafe Paradiso remains permanently etched in my memory. The menu was truly excepptional and incomparable. Dennis Cotter has done a great job in organizing this restaurant. I wish you would consider opening another one hear Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Regards

Hi, having had a wonderful evening via a suprise Christmas present from Claire, my wife, for Valentine’s Day 2004, I would want to return the surpise for 14 February 2005. Will you be open?

Denis Cotter comments: – Sorry Neil, but the 14th falls on a Monday this year, so the restaurant will be closed. I know, I know…we should open, but we’ve always been strict about the five day week, and I can’t see Valentines Day changing that. Sorry. Denis Cotter, Cafe Paradiso
